Josh Martin, LPC
Counselor & Westside Director
Josh has worked in warehouses, plants, and school systems, and even delivered Red Bull to stores before accepting his calling as a therapist. Josh has experience in many different career fields, but none fit him better than being a therapist. This experience helps give him insight into the everyday life of most people who sit across from him. Josh has years of experience in the mental health field, including alcohol and drug counseling, private practice, school districts, and formerly the Director of Counseling and Mental Health Services at Limestone University. He has experience with addictions, existential crisis, CBT, REBT, and ACT therapy. Josh is trained in ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), which is an eye movement desensitization technique to help individuals overcome traumatic experiences. He considers his specialties to be anxiety, addictions, anger management, and depression. Josh can provide a Christian worldview approach to those interested in integrating their faith into the treatment process.

Kate Gilbert, LPC-A
Counselor
Kate originally moved to South Carolina from Wisconsin, leaving a very rural, agricultural area to attend her undergraduate program at USC Upstate. She quickly fell in love with the “small town” feeling of Spartanburg and has felt right at home here since 2012. Kate has always had a passion for people, spending years working in both the emergency department and the food service industry before discovering her true calling as a therapist. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands and has since enjoyed working with a wide range of clinical populations. As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, Kate works with older teens and adults navigating life transitions, substance use, crisis, and emotional burnout. She also has a clinical interest in parental counseling, including perinatal depression and anxiety, as well as postpartum care for both mothers and fathers. Kate’s therapeutic style is warm, direct, and grounded. She works to provide both structure and insight so her clients can show up authentically and move toward meaningful change.

Kate Elliott, LPC-A
Counselor
Born and raised in Spartanburg, Kate feels grateful to now serve the community that has always been home to her. She earned her undergraduate degree from Clemson University before completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She is passionate about walking alongside teenagers, college students, young adults, and women as they navigate the challenges and transitions that life often brings. Kate particularly enjoys working with clients experiencing anxiety, relational challenges, and life transitions. She has a heart for helping clients better understand themselves, process difficult emotions, and build healthier relationships with both themselves and others. While she especially enjoys incorporating faith into the counseling process for clients who desire it, she welcomes and values working with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Kate’s counseling style is warm, genuine, and encouraging. She strives to create a space where clients feel safe, known, and supported while also being challenged toward growth and healing. She is passionate about helping clients develop resilience and confidence as they navigate life’s difficulties, believing that meaningful growth often comes through learning how to move through challenges rather than avoid them. She believes therapy is most impactful when clients feel comfortable showing up as their authentic selves. Outside of the counseling office, Kate enjoys spending time with friends, being involved in her church community, exercising, going on walks, and finding any excuse to grab a good cup of coffee.
